Are you a seasoned Security professional with experience managing a SOC team? Do you want to work with an exciting and rapidly growing organisation in the Cyber Security space? I am working with an exciting Technology & Managed Services provider looking for a SOC Manager to lead a team and improve the effectiveness of the Security Operations department.
Job Responsibilities for the SOC Manager
- Coordinate and monitor the successful delivery of SOC, Managed Detection & Response services to clients
- Lead a team of up to 12 L1 & L2 Analysts
- Lead on training and development for the SOC & MDR Team
- Oversee the creation, improvement and implementation of processes to improve the overall security posture of the SOC Services
- Oversee the progress of MDR content development
- Act as an escalation point for Incidents working with the wider MDR team
- Create and implement playbooks for the SOC
- Act as a communication point for clients with relation to MDR services ensuring knowledge of their current security posture and how to improve
- Keep up to date with Cyber Security developments and innovations
Desirable Skills & Experience for the SOC Manager
- Proven experience working in and leading SOC or MDR teams
- Experience managing, coaching and mentoring SOC teams
- Technical background with experience managing Security Incidents
- Strong process improvement experience in a SOC or MDR environment
- Experience creating and implementing playbooks for Security
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills both written and verbal
- In depth knowledge of Cyber attacks and techniques
- Knowledge of SIEM tools such as QRadar, Microsoft Sentinel or ArcSight is beneficial
- Security certifications are desirable
